A cleansing ritual steeped in Japanese wisdom

This special cleansing set combines the art of the tea ceremony, or otemae, with time-tested geisha beauty rituals for an elegant, effective way to care for your complexion. Individual bristles are trimmed with a razor to achieve varied lengths throughout the brush. This distinctive formation allows it to better reach pores and thoroughly purify skin. The bowl is made from compressed wood, coated in a lacquer finish.

How to Use

Transform your powder to a cloud-like foam

Sprinkle a ½ teaspoon of any Rice Polish enzyme powder into the center of the bowl, slowly add a few drops of water and use the brush to combine, producing a luxurious foam. Hold the brush perpendicular to the surface of the skin and make small, circular motions to apply the foam to the face for 10-20 seconds. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Follow with the remaining treatments in your beauty ritual.

After daily use, rinse the brush under warm running water for several seconds. Gently squeeze from the base to the tip with fingers or towel to remove excess moisture. Hang the brush on the stand to dry, bristles facing downward.

Chemical vs. Physical Sunscreen: Which Is Better for You?

There are two types of sunscreen: chemical and physical (also known as chemical). But there is also a third type: hybrid, which is when chemical and mineral sunscreens combine.  While physical and chemical sunscreens are often pitted against each other, no filter is better than the other; it’s simply a matter of personal preference.  There are major differences, pros and cons with all options, the most important factor is to weigh all the info and determine which is right for you. Because after all, if you want to have healthy skin, you must wear sunscreen daily, which means you must enjoy the feeling of it.

The Most Impressive Aloe Vera Benefits for Skin
The Most Impressive Aloe Vera Benefits for Skin

Aloe vera is well known for its ability to soothe a sunburn, but the humble ingredient does far more than address skin post-sun.  The ancient plant is naturally anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-viral, antiseptic, and contains wound-healing properties.  Aloe vera extract has been clinically shown to deeply hydrate, minimize the appearance of wrinkles (yes, really!), reduce acne, relieve skin irritation, heal wounds, and soothe redness and swelling.  There are many different types of aloe vera (nearly 400), each with its own benefits and properties, plus the pure form of the extract can be incredibly sticky. This is why it’s ideal to get the benefits of aloe from a clinically-tested skincare product. All the pros, none of the tacky sensation on the skin.

Ectoin Heals, Hydrates, and Soothes The Skin — Here’s How to Use It

Ectoin is an up-and-coming skincare ingredient that is produced by microorganisms classified as  ‘extremophiles.’ An extremophile is a microorganism that can live in extreme and harsh conditions due to ectoin’s stress-shielding properties. On skin, ectoin has been shown to be a potent hydrating, soothing, and pore-minimizing antioxidant.  Look for formulas that allow ectoin to remain on the skin for long periods of time, like serums, moisturizers, and sunscreens, so you can soak in the benefits all day or night.
