A cleansing ritual steeped in Japanese wisdom

This special cleansing set combines the art of the tea ceremony, or otemae, with time-tested geisha beauty rituals for an elegant, effective way to care for your complexion. Individual bristles are trimmed with a razor to achieve varied lengths throughout the brush. This distinctive formation allows it to better reach pores and thoroughly purify skin. The bowl is made from compressed wood, coated in a lacquer finish.

How to Use

Transform your powder to a cloud-like foam

Sprinkle a ½ teaspoon of any Rice Polish enzyme powder into the center of the bowl, slowly add a few drops of water and use the brush to combine, producing a luxurious foam. Hold the brush perpendicular to the surface of the skin and make small, circular motions to apply the foam to the face for 10-20 seconds. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Follow with the remaining treatments in your beauty ritual.

After daily use, rinse the brush under warm running water for several seconds. Gently squeeze from the base to the tip with fingers or towel to remove excess moisture. Hang the brush on the stand to dry, bristles facing downward.

Should have purchased it sooner

"Looking at it, I thought it would be ceramic. In reasoning, it is nice that it isn't. With soapy hands and foamy rice wash, it would have been in pieces after a couple of uses. I am happy with the purchase as cleansing my face is now easier. I always had grains when using my hands to create the foam. Now I feel like I am coating my skin with fluffy clouds."

It’s plastic

"I am so disappointed that this bowl is plastic with a plexiglass stand. Theresa is nothing great about the brush either."

Amelia A. (1/5)

Indulgent & High Quality

"I’m so glad I bought this (I waffled for a while). The experience is so luxurious and calming, I actually look forward to my nighttime ablutions now! The bowl and brush are high quality. They are made from some sort of light wood (maybe balsa?) and gorgeously lacquered. So delicate but durable. (Ignore the comments from people saying it’s plastic, that’s not true)."

Christina (5/5)

Love it

"I love having it on my dresser surrounded by my Tatcha routine products, I hang my necklaces and stack my rings on top. It looks dope!"

Pamela F. (5/5)

Surprised!

"I purchased this on a whim, I have a full collection of Tatcha treatment and love it! Online I saw Vicki using this product with her Rice Polish and thought I would try it. I love using it it has taken my whole routine up a notch. Would definitely buy again!"

Gail M. (5/5)

Up your game!

"This is a treat I didn’t know I needed. I love the rice polish, but using it with this brush takes it to a new level. It’s like a little ritual I do at night that I find soothing. The bowl is lacquer, not porcelain, but this didn’t hurt my feelings at all. I love it! 💯"

Joyce (5/5)

Spa-like

"This tool is one I didn’t realize I needed until I bought it on a whim. I love the rice cleansing product, but I didn’t really like mixing it up with water in my palm. This tool makes that process not only easier, but better. It feels luxurious to me every time I use it. And I use way less of the rice polish. So happy I bought it. I use it everyday."

Karen (5/5)

It’s plastic, not luxury

"I LOVE Tatcha products, they’re the best on the market, and when I saw this brush and bowl set, I thought it’d be a functional item for my mask and rice polish application. I was so disappointed to see I paid $124 for plastic. I feel duped. First they take away the exfoliation cleanser and now they’re selling this item as luxury? Shame on them"

Tatcha

"Love this to create the full cleansing/foaming experience with rice powder. Looks great and works well. Wish bowl was ceramic vs plastic."

Matcha is finely powdered green tea that is known for its bright green hue, distinct cultivation, ceremonial preparation process, and transformative health benefits. There are different grades of matcha, with ceremonial being the most prized. Ceremonial-grade matcha comes from younger tea leaves that are more prized for their delicate flavor and potent health benefits. Matcha is also found in many skincare formulas, which might sound strange at first, but the green tea’s powerful antioxidants also work wonders on the skin, helping to soothe, calm, and balance.
